YAP Newsletter October 2019

The Autumn is here and the leaves are changing as we enjoy our pumpkin spice lattes.

Here are this month’s activities and schedule.

YAP is having a workshop/presentation with Samuel Lind, an internationally renowned artist from Puerto Rico. Samuel Lind was raised in Loíza, Puerto Rico which has been his lifelong home. His aptitude for art was identified at an early age by one of his teachers and she provided him with materials in order to motivate him to develop his talent. He studied in the Fine Arts University in San Juan during the seventies and was fortunate enough to be the pupil of several great artists of our country such as Augusto Marín, Lorenz Homar, and José Alicea.

Oil painting demo has been rescheduled for Friday, October 4 at 4 pm. Please make it a point to attend if you can.

For students interested in attending art school or learning more about it, we are going to National Portfolio Day Sunday, October 27, 12 – 5 pm. We will have Saturday, October 26 from 1 – 5 pm for the opportunity to do portfolio prep.

Nerdtino, the premier Latinx founded comic book convention is happening November 2. All work for selling at Nerdtino that is being printed needs to be done and turned in by Friday, October 18, 2019.
